The 2026 shortlist

Most marketing tools automate the sending. Very few automate the making.

We test AI marketing platforms on one question that pricing pages never answer: when you finish setting it up, what has actually been produced? We rank ten tools on it, and we show our scoring.

Why our order differs

Every other list ranks the same five tools on the same five features.

Segmentation, deliverability, A/B testing, integrations, support. All real, all now table stakes, and none of them tell you whether you will still be staring at an empty campaign on Friday. So we score something else.

1. Output

Does it produce finished marketing, a page, an article, a set of posts, a flyer, or does it only deliver work you already made?

2. AI depth

Whether the AI makes decisions you would otherwise make, or just finishes your sentences and rewrites subject lines.

3. Time to first result

From signup to something a customer could actually see. Measured in hours, not in onboarding calls.

4. Price clarity

What you pay on day one, what triggers the next tier, and whether an onboarding fee is waiting behind the quote.

5. Ceiling

How long before you outgrow it. This is the criterion the enterprise platforms win, and we score it honestly.

The trade-off

No tool wins all five. Our number one has the lowest ceiling on the list. We say so in its entry.

Start from your situation

Four shortlists, not one

The right answer changes completely depending on who is doing the work and what already exists. Pick the row that sounds like you.

One person, no designer

You need the marketing to exist at all

There is no page to send traffic to and no article to link. A sending platform will not fix that, because there is nothing yet to send. Start with a tool that produces the assets.

Our pick: ChattyPage, with Brevo underneath it once you have a list.

Online store

You have orders and want more per customer

Purchase history is the most valuable data any of these tools can read. Pick on the quality of the predictive segments, not on the editor.

Our pick: Klaviyo, with Omnisend as the cheaper starting point.

B2B with a sales team

Marketing and sales argue about the same contact

The value is one shared record, not the automation. Budget for the jump from the starter tier, because it is much larger than the pricing page suggests.

Our pick: HubSpot, with ActiveCampaign if the CRM can stay separate.

Product-led SaaS

Your triggers are product events, not email opens

You need a tool that treats a webhook as a first-class citizen. Most of this list treats behaviour as an afterthought bolted onto a list.

Our pick: Customer.io, with ActiveCampaign for a smaller budget.
